As alterações ambientais no mundo têm impulsionado importantes mudanças no paradigma das organizações, permitindo que a gestão ambiental seja, progressivamente, incluída na estratégia organizacional. Os Recursos Humanos têm um papel preponderante na adoção de práticas que permitam uma maior interação com o meio ambiente, ao mesmo tempo que alteram padrões de comportamento, gerando um sistema de gestão ambiental coeso.
A presente dissertação pretende compreender a importância e razões da adoção de práticas ambientais pelas organizações, a sua relevância para os colaboradores e, ainda, a perceção dos mesmos em relação ao meio ambiente. Visa, assim, analisar a promoção de práticas verdes de recursos humanos e a sua contribuição na gestão ambiental, assim como averiguar a familiarização dos trabalhadores com esta nova área nas organizações.
Por forma a responder ao objetivo de investigação foi realizado um estudo de caso, aplicado numa multinacional do sector farmacêutico, em Portugal, e seguida uma metodologia quantitativa através da aplicação de um questionário. O estudo conta com uma amostra de 70 respostas e a sua análise é realizada através da técnica de regressão simples. As questões demográficas foram utilizadas para caracterização do presente estudo e foram incluídas seis variáveis: qualificação dos recursos humanos, complexidade, perceção individual do ambiente, vantagem relativa, compatibilidade e práticas ambientais. Os resultados revelam que as variáveis apoio organizacional e qualificação dos recursos humanos são as que têm influência positiva nas práticas ambientais.
Environmental changes in the world have driven major changes in the paradigm of organizations, allowing environmental management is gradually included in the organizational strategy. Human Resources have a leading role in adopting practices that allow greater interaction with the environment, while changing patterns of behavior, creating a cohesive environmental management system. This work aims to understand the importance and reasons for the adoption of environmental practices by organizations, their relevance for the employees and also the perception of the same in relation to the environment. Thus requests to examine the promotion of green practices in human resources and their contribution to environmental management, as well as ascertain the familiarization of employees with this new area in organizations. In order to achieve the goals of our research was carried out a case study applied a multinational pharmaceutical sector in Portugal, and then a quantitative methodology by applying a questionnaire. The study comprises a sample of 70 responses and their analysis is performed by simple regression. Demographic issues were used for characterization of this study and were included six variables: qualification of human resources, complexity, individual environmental perception, relative advantage, compatibility and environmental practices. The results show that the variables organizational support and qualification of human resources are those that have positive influence on environmental practices.
