Abstract(s)
A Globalização caracteriza-se por um conjunto de transformações - políticas, económicas,
sociais e culturais - que têm vindo a desenvolver-se nas últimas décadas, culminado numa integração
global, destacando-se a acção das empresas Transnacionais (TNC's), um dos actores das Relações
Internacionais.
Ser Transnacional é um dos expoentes máximos da Globalização, quando uma empresa vai
para além das suas fronteiras e aproveita as vantagens competitivas de outros espaços.
Existe um maior debate sobre o impacto das empresas transnacionais sobre as comunidades
locais, relacionadas com o ambiente; questões laborais; fluxos de doenças; a pobreza; o
endividamento dos países subdesenvolvidos; etc.
O desenvolvimento dos meios de comunicação e dos transportes permitiu acelerar a
internacionalização das empresas, porém estas tiveram que adaptar a sua estratégia nesses
mercados, devido às diferenças sociais e culturais.
Sendo o propósito de toda a empresa a maximização do lucro, que impacto terão as
empresas transnacionais no país, ou países, onde se fixam? Que pressões ou medidas foram
tomadas para minimizar esse impacto?
Este trabalho assenta na exposição do que é a Responsabilidade Social, Códigos de Ética e
de Conduta, na forma como as empresas os auto promovem e na exposição das várias directrizes
internacionais que definem modos de acção.
Globalization is characterized by a set of transformations - political, economic, social and cultural - that have been developing in the recent decades, culminating in a global integration, highlighting the activities of Transnational Corporations (TNCs), one of the actors of International Relations. Being Transnational is one of the leading exponents of Globalization, when a company goes beyond its borders and enjoys the competitive advantages of other spaces. There is a major debate on the impact of Transnational Corporations on local communities, environment-related, labor issues; diseases, poverty, indebtedness of developing countries, etc... The development of communications and transport accelerated the company’s internationalization, but they have to adapt their strategy in these markets due to social and cultural differences. Since the purpose of every enterprise is profit maximization, which is the impact of Transnational Corporations in the country, or countries, where they attach? What pressure or measures were taken to minimize this impact? This work is based on exposure of what is Social Responsibility, Ethics and Codes of Conduct, and of the way how enterprises promote and auto exposure in the various international guidelines that defines modes of action.
