This report is part of the internship as an exercise physiologist at the Ginásio Clube Português (GCP) and CERCI Oeiras in Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and Cerebral Palsy, with a duration of one academic year. With this document, it is intended to make the reader aware of the problem of inclusion of the people with DID and CP in context of gymnasium and institution and the professional practice framing of an exercise physiologist in this area, still little discussed in Portugal, reinforcing the role of exercise in the health and lifestyle of these population. Additionally, it is concrete and rigorously described the experience as an intern in both environments, only possibly thanks to the multidisciplinary team involved in both structures where this internship was carried out. For each internship location, a concise characterization and description of the operation of each specific program of the institution is carried out. In the case of CERCI, the project under development refer to a High Intensity Interval Exercise Program, while in GCP the current program is called Sports4All. Thus, this paper presents the work accomplished throughout one year of internship, referring to several tasks proposed and completed, the knowledge acquired, the complementary challenges executed and the personal contribution developed for one of the institutions and their expected future consequences. At the end of the internship and looking back to the path walked, it was possible to conclude that the proposed goals were accomplished and the challenges overcome, valuing learning and competencies acquired as professionals
