Esta dissertação insere-se na área da filosofia moral e da religião. O objetivo principal é responder à questão: pode o ágape ser fonte moral da solidariedade universal? Para esse fim, iremos analisar a obra A Secular Age de Charles Taylor, compreendendo o contexto em que a questão é colocada. É nesta obra que encontramos os conceitos fundamentais para a nossa reflexão, destacando o conceito de transcendência, fonte moral, ágape, florescimento humano, secularização, e humanismo exclusivo. Concluímos afirmativamente que o ágape pode ser fonte moral da solidariedade universal. Mostrando o modo como a fé e a espiritualidade cristã informam e inspiram o amor pelo ser humano. Sublinhando a importância da transcendência para a moralidade e cultura moderna.
This dissertation is situated in the area of moral and religious philosophy. The main objective is to answer the question: can agape be a moral source of universal solidarity? To this end, we will analyze Charles Taylor’s work A Secular Age, understanding the context in which the question is posed. It is in this work that we find the fundamental concepts for our reflection, highlighting the concepts of transcendence, moral source, agape, human flourishing, secularization, and exclusive humanism. We conclude affirmatively that agape can be a moral source of universal solidarity, thus showing how Christian faith and spirituality inform and inspire love for the human being. This underlines the importance of transcendence for modern morality and culture.
