Abstract(s)
A análise do papel da União Europeia na reconstrução dos Estados que nasceram do conflito da dissolução da Jugoslávia será o tema central desta dissertação. Será feita uma breve citação histórica dos factos ocorridos durante a década de noventa e o apoio prestado pela comunidade internacional na resolução da guerra e na reconstrução dos países afectados. É realçada também a importância que o sucesso da economia eslovena e a sua integração na UE representou para estes países. O trabalho focaliza o restabelecimento das relações comerciais destes novos países e o incremento destas com a UE, bem como da entrada de investimento directo estrangeiro para a modernização e melhoria da economia da Ex-Jugoslávia. Será dado especial atenção ao enorme esforço financeiro e político exercido pela UE na cooperação com a Ex-Jugoslávia, com vista à resolução dos graves problemas económico- financeiros. Relata as principais medidas utilizadas pela UE e os primeiros resultados da reconstrução económica destes países, os quais estão criando condições para uma futura adesão destes países à UE, o que irá marcar a história da construção europeia durante a próxima década.
The analysis of the relations between the European Union and the new states that emerged at the end of the Yugoslavian contlict during the recovery process will be the main subject of this thesis. An historical summary will be made on the major facts which occurred during the nineties and the role of intemational community as far as the war's resolution and the rccovery of the affected countries are concemed. It is also underlined the importance that the Slovenian's cconomy success and its integration represented to thesc countries. This thesis makes an analysis on the reestablishment of trade relations of these countries, especially with the EU and the fiow of foreign direct investment to the modcmization and improvernent of the Former Yugoslavian cconomics. The main focus of this thesis will be placed on the enormous financial and political effort exerced by the EU in cooperation with Former Yugoslavia, in order to give solutions to the serious economic and financial issues. ft relates the main measures uscd by the EU and the first results of these countries' economical recovery that are creating conditions for a future integration in the EU, which will mark the history ol' the European Union during the next dccade.
