Affectively Balanced Time Perspective Scale e o Kansas Marital Satisfaction Scale.
conjugal e passado negativo e o presente negativo.
Concluindo, no presente estudo,
The study of time perspective has shown that this is a major influence in an individual's life. However, to date, there is a scarcity of studies examining the links between time perspective and marital satisfaction. The purpose of this study was to understand the relationship between time perspective and marital satisfaction for individuals and their partners. The sample consisted of 124 couples, all of whom had at least one child with ages ranging from 8 to 18. The women' age ranged from 32 to 57 (M = 42.67; SD = 4.55) and the men ranged from 30 to 78 (M = 45.14; SD = 5.90). The couples filled out a questionnaire including the Affectively Balanced Time Perspective Scale and the Kansas Marital Satisfaction Scale. Results showed that for women, there was a positive correlation between the present positive and marital satisfaction and a negative correlation between marital satisfaction and past negative and present negative. With regard to dyadic effects, there was only a positive correlation between partners’ reports of marital satisfaction. We found several correlations between different time perspective dimensions at both the individual and dyadic levels. In conclusion, in the present study, only the past negative, presente positive and presente negative perspectives of women were significant predictors of their own marital satisfaction and no dyadic effects were found.
