Resumo(s)
Cunhado originalmente nos finais dos anos 1960’s, para dar nome às
peças de carácter austero e simples de artistas como Donald Judd,
“Minimalismo” foi, e tem sido empre- gue para lá das suas fronteiras
iniciais, associando-se na generalidade a um ideal que assenta na
procura do essencial.
Embora a percepção geral da conexão entre Arquitectura e
movimento artístico se apoie na relação estética que as obras
produzidas possam partilhar, o trabalho teórico dos artistas
envolvidos, oferece bases de discussão distintas para um outro
possível entendimento entre as duas disciplinas.
Com o desenvolvimento de uma proposta urbana no Alto de S.
Amaro, Lisboa, este trabalho pretende estabelecer uma relação que se
estende para lá dos aspectos formais dos objectos produzidos pelo
movimento artístico e Arquitectura.
ABSTRACT:With its origin in late 1960’s, to give name to the austere and simple pieces of artists like Donal Judd, “Minimalism” was, and has been used beyond its inicial boundaries, and is now generally assigned to an ideal that settles in search of the essencial. Thought the general perception, of the connection between Architecture and the ar- tistic movement, stands in the aesthetic relation that the works might share, the the- oretical concepts developed by the artists, give us basis of discussion to a different understanding between the two disciplines. With the development of an urban proposal for Alto de S. Amaro, Lisboa, this work intends to establish a relation that goes beyond the formal aspects of the produced objects, of the artistic movement and Architecture.
