Albufeira é uma das cidade do sul de Portugal que vive do turismo. Atualmente é visível a falta de equilíbrio no desenvolvimento urbano e na oferta de estímulos que combatam o problema da sazonalidade. O crescimento de Albufeira levou a que a topografia do terreno se tornasse um problema na articulação da cidade sendo pertinente desenvolver um projeto que seja capaz de atenuar uma problemática que se tem vindo a observar: os dois pontos mais vividos da cidade, a Baixa e a Marina, encontram-se distanciados por apenas 2,1 km, contudo o deslocamento é muitas vezes feito de transportes pela dificuldade que as diferenças de cota causam na deslocação pedonal. Assim, este Projeto Final de Mestrado foca-se em unir estes dois pontos muito fortes da cidade através do desenho de um percurso no limite terra-mar. É também projetado um espaço multifuncional com um equipamento de banhos que pode ser utilizado ao longo de todo o ano, de modo a combater a sazonalidade. A proposta tem como objetivo, após detectar as necessidades de Albufeira, apresentar soluções que respeitem a sua essência proporcionando momentos de passagem e estadia, contribuindo para a correção de uma falha urbana evidente e trazendo vida em comunidade para a frente costeira.
Albufeira is one of the cities in southern Portugal that lives off tourism. Currently, there is a visible lack of balance in urban development and in the provision of incentives that combat the problem of seasonality. Following the growth of Albufeira, the topography of the land has become a problem in the articulation of the city, making it pertinent to develop a project that is capable of alleviating a problem that has been observed: the two most lifeful areas of the city, Downtown and the Marina, are only 2.1 km apart, however the need of transport is usual due to the difficulty that the differences in elevation cause when traveling by foot. Therefore, this Master's Final Project focuses on uniting these two very strong points of the city through the design of a sea front route. A multifunctional space is also designed with a bathing equipment that can be used all year long, in order to combat seasonality. The proposal aims, after detecting Albufeira's needs, to present solutions that respect its essence, providing moments of passage and stay, contributing to the correction of an evident urban flaw and bringing community life to the sea front.
