The destruction of ecosystems and global environmental imbalance resulting from the unsustainable use of resources to satisfy the excessive and careless consumption of the 20th century has compelled individuals and organizations to make changes in their behavior. There are various ways to act and change everyday habits, especially consumption habits, which inevitably constitute the primary direct cause of today's environmental issue. It is also important for companies to be discerning in adopting sustainable practices such as Circular Economy. The Circular Economy model is based on replacing the linear production and consumption process with a circular one, with the principle of extending the lifespan of products through the reuse of packaging, reduced demand for and depletion of natural resources, and energy conservation compared to linear economy production systems, where products are discarded after a single use. However, understanding a business requires knowledge of corporate relationships, which in turn implies an understanding of the network they are a part of. This dissertation aims to understand how circular economy practices affect and are affected by corporate relationships, with a case study based on sustainable practices implemented by the Sumol + Compal company, specifically in the supply chain of returnable glass bottles for soft drinks. This study seeks to comprehend the circular economy model adopted to promote the extended life cycle of glass packaging. The objective of this study is to investigate how practices, relationships, and corporate strategies enhance the environmental performance of the company and contribute to a more sustainable environment.
