Technological evolution has brought about important changes and
transformations in different sectors, particularly at the social, cultural, and economic
levels. In a market with constant transformation, accounting has the obligation to follow
this transformation process to respond to this reality. Within this context, professionals
and technicians in this area must be in harmony with the challenges they face daily.
This Internship Report aims to address the current challenges and responsibilities
of the accounting profession and what kind of impacts Covid-19 has brought to the
accounting area, as well as to present the internship carried out as part of the final work
of the Master’s in Management.
The structure of this report is essentially based on two parts. The first part
concerns the description and characterization of the company where I carried out my
curricular internship (Moneris SGPS) and the presentation of the tasks performed during
the internship period. The second part corresponds to the theoretical framework of the
theme, which includes a literature review and a qualitative study by analyzing the
experiences, feelings, and opinions of the professionals at the internship place about the
challenges and difficulties they face in their daily lives and the impacts that Covid-19 has
brought to accounting area.
