Vinculação conjugal e estilos parentais em pais de filhos com e sem deficiência visual

A presente investigação pretende analisar e comparar a vinculação conjugal e os
estilos parentais em pais de filhos com e sem deficiência visual. Para isso foram
aplicados o questionário Experiências em Relações Próximas (Brennan, Clark &
Shaver, 1998; adaptação de Campos, 1998) e o Questionário de Dimensões e Estilos
Parentais (Robinson, Mandleco, Olsen & Hart, 2001; adaptação Carapito, Pedro &
Ribeiro, 2007) a uma amostra de 44 pais de filhos sem deficiência visual e a 30 pais de
filhos com deficiência visual, residentes em Portugal. Os resultados demonstram que
existem diferenças estatisticamente significativas em relação à vinculação conjugal e
aos estilos parentais entre as mães que têm filhos com deficiência visual e as mães que
não têm filhos com deficiência visual. Não se encontraram diferenças estatisticamente
significativas em relação aos pais. Verificou-se também, que o estilo de vinculação está
positiva e moderadamente relacionado com o estilo parental.
This research aims to analyze and compare marital attachment and parenting styles in parents of children with and without visual impairments. Experiences in Close relationships (Brennan, Clark & Shaver, 1998; adaptation of Campos, 1998) and Dimensions Questionnaire and Parental Styles (Robinson, Mandleco, Olsen & Hart, 2001; Carapito adaptation, Pedro & Ribeiro, 2007) were applied to a sample of 44 parents of children without visual disabilities and 30 parents of children with visual impairment, living in Portugal. The results show that there are significant differences in adult attachment and parenting styles among mothers who have children with visual disabilities and the mothers who have children with visual disabilities. No statistically significant differences were found in relation to fathers. It was also found that attachment style is positively and moderately related to parenting style.
