Resumo(s)
O Alentejo é a maior região de Portugal, no entanto comporta apenas
uma pequena percentagem de população, distribuída por uma rede
vasta e pouco densa de povoações. Estas vilas e aldeias esparsas na
paisagem, geográfica e visualmente longínquas entre si, mantiveram
desde tempos ancestrais uma ligação forte por estradas e caminhos
que geravam uma ideia de proximidade. A desertificação das áreas
rurais, pelo progressivo aumento da centralização da imigração nas
áreas urbanas do país, torna o isolamento destes povoados mais relevante.
Este acontecimento tem uma dualidade de interpretações
que o torna, por um lado, negativo, pelo crescente esquecimento e
perda de memórias, culturas e identidades do passado, mas também
positivo pela oportunidade que a arquitectura tem para procurar desenvolver
soluções para estes lugares vulneráveis.
A presente proposta procura introduzir uma vertente do turismo
- agro-turismo - que permita a regeneração da ligação económica,
cultural e social da Herdade de Água de Peixes com as aldeias circundas,
Alvito e Albergaria dos Fusos, procurando sempre preservar a
memória e identidade do lugar.
ABSTRACT:Alentejo, in spite of being one of the Portuguese nation's biggest regions, only has a small percentage of its of population, a population which is scattered throughtout a vast network of villages. These settlements, distant between themselfs, although visually and geographically spaced on the landscape, keep an unexpected strong connection between themselves through roads and paths wich create the idea of proximity and closeness, a concept which is lost in time. The depopulation of the rural areas generated by the centralized migration of people to the main urban areas of the country makes the settlements' isolation more significant. These events may have a duality of interpretations, wich makes it both a negative and a positive side of the aforementioned situation, a negative side because of the growing negletion and loss of identity and the positive because it may present itself as an opportunity for architects to find solutions for these vulnerable places. This proposal intends to bring to the rural context an ideia of tourism, agritourism, that allows to regenerate the economic, cultural and social connection that the Água de Peixes Estate once had with the neighbouring villages like Alvito and Albergaria dos Fusos, with the ever present purpose of trying to keep the identity and memory of the place.
