estudos futuros.
The understanding of the balance between work and family life remains a topic with extreme relevance for researchers and organizations. In this sense, the present study aims to understand how a preponderant resource, such as family support, in a worker’s life can influence this balance, using family centrality as the moderator of this relationship. In total, a sample of 302 workers from different work sectors was collected, where the effect of moderation was analyzed through Process (Hayes, 2018), and the study hypothesis were partially corroborated. The results obtained showcase a significant and positive relationship between the family support and the work-family balance (WFB), however the family centrality does not moderate this relationship. It was reflected in the results that family centrality has positive and significant effects in promoting WFB. The results contribute to the literature by showing a better understanding of the extra-organizational variables on WFB. The practical implications of the results are discussed, as well as limitations and suggestions for future studies.
