| dc.description.abstract | O presente Projeto Final de Mestrado teve seguimento no trabalho desenvolvido durante o workshop NoVOID, que possuiu como objetivo explorar os espaços urbanos expectantes existentes na Área Metropolitana de Lisboa, onde se integra o Município do Barreiro, oportunidades e pontos fortes existentes nestes vazios urbanos, mais especificamente na área próxima ao terminal fluvial e na área do sistema ferroviário que foi deixada ao longo do tempo sem atividade frequente. Procura-se dar maior visibilidade ao património simbólico do complexo ferroviário e à memória do lugar através de um percurso cultural. É um local atualmente caracterizado pelas descontinuidades urbanas, devido ao processo de desindustrialização que teve origem nos anos 70 e que se mantem marcado no território pelas grandes estruturas industriais, ferroviárias e portuárias inutilizadas provocando barreiras e insegurança perante a escala urbana industrial, dificultando o fluxo da cidade, principalmente na fluidez dos modos ativos de circulação. Este projeto surge da oportunidade criada pela desindustrialização e infraestruturação ferroviária no desafio de devolver ao pedestre áreas que outrora foram densamente ocupadas e que após a época áurea do Barreiro são vistas como terrenos expectantes que apresentam diversas carências a nível urbano, precisando de ser fortalecidas. A evolução tecnológica aproximou o território tanto do Sul, como de Lisboa, sustentando uma elevada percentagem de população diária que utiliza a rede de transportes existente no Barreiro pudendo passar a usufruir deste local. Foi reconhecido imenso potencial nos sistemas de vistas para o Seixal e Lisboa, Rio Coina e Rio Tejo, bem como a existência do Parque Regional Nacional da Mata da Machada, Patrimónios Naturais Lagunares. Reconhece-se também uma imagem urbana em declínio e pretende-se transformar para uso do cidadão, devolvendo caminhos que outrora foram deles, adaptando caminhos ferroviários, reinventando a cidade e integrando o património ferroviário num percurso cultural, recorrendo a um programa de Academia do Movimento fomentando relações intergeracionais, comunitárias e de inclusão social. Reutilizando de espaços abertos e infraestruturas pesadas, transformando-as para a comunidade local e potencializando uma estrutura ecológica mais rica. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | This Master's Final Project followed up on the work developed during the NoVOID workshop, which aimed to explore the expectant urban spaces existing in the Lisbon Metropolitan Area, where the Municipality of Barreiro is integrated, opportunities and strengths existing in these urban voids, more specifically in the area close to the river terminal and in the area of the rail system that has been left over time without frequent activity. It seeks to give greater visibility to the symbolic heritage of the railway complex and the memory of the place through a cultural route. It is a place currently characterized by urban discontinuities, due to the process of de-industrialization that began in the 70s and that remains marked in the territory by the great industrial, railway and port structures that have not been used, causing barriers and insecurity in the face of the industrial urban scale, hindering the flow of city, mainly in the fluidity of active modes of circulation. This project arises from the opportunity created by the de-industrialization and railway infrastructure in the challenge of returning to pedestrian areas that were once densely occupied and that after the golden age of Barreiro are seen as expectant lands that present several needs at an urban level, in need of strengthening. Technological evolution has brought the territory closer to both the South and Lisbon, sustaining a high percentage of the daily population that uses the existing transport network in Barreiro and can now enjoy this location. Immense potential was recognized in the systems of views to Seixal and Lisbon, River Coina and River Tejo, as well as the existence of the National Regional Park of Mata da Machada, Lagoon Natural Heritage. An urban image in decline is also recognized and it is intended to transform it for the use of the citizen, returning paths that were once theirs, adapting railways, reinventing the city and integrating the railway heritage into a cultural route, using a program of Academia do Movimento. fostering intergenerational, community and social inclusion relationships.
