A crescente necessidade de prestar serviços médicos de alta qualidade tem levado, gradualmente, as organizações de saúde a implementar técnicas de Process Mining para otimizar os processos clínicos e, consequentemente, melhorar a eficiência hospitalar. Estas técnicas têm a capacidade de detetar problemas de conformidade entre o padrão de atuação teórico e o padrão de atuação real, combatendo os desvios injustificados da prática clínica e melhorando a qualidade dos serviços prestados. Assim, a monitorização da conformidade cria valor não só para a organização como para o paciente.
O presente trabalho surgiu na sequência de um estágio realizado ao abrigo de um protocolo entre o Instituto Superior de Economia e Gestão e o Hospital da Luz. O principal objetivo consistiu na avaliação da conformidade para 153 pacientes detetados com endometriose, em 2021. A primeira etapa do trabalho envolveu a modelação do processo clínico, associado à patologia em estudo, na linguagem BPMN. Em seguida, procedeu-se ao tratamento e processamento dos dados clínicos disponibilizados pelo sistema de informação do Hospital da Luz. Por fim, o software ProM auxiliou a detetar irregularidades e padrões através da extração de informação do programa e, consequentemente, a propor melhorias com vista a aumentar a qualidade dos serviços médicos prestados.
Os resultados permitiram concluir que nenhum paciente da amostra teve um percurso em total conformidade com os pressupostos teóricos do Hospital da Luz. Em média, mais de metade dos pacientes apresentaram níveis de conformidade baixos, o que sugere um grande espaço para melhorias no que respeita à aplicação das recomendações teóricas no
contexto real.
The growing need to provide high-quality medical services has gradually led healthcare organizations to implement Process Mining techniques to improve clinical processes and, consequently, to maximize hospital efficiency. These techniques have the ability to detect compliance problems between the theoretical performance and the actual performance patterns, preventing unjustified deviations in clinical practice and improving the quality of services provided. Thus, compliance monitoring creates value not only for the organization but also for the patient. This study arose from an internship carried out under a protocol between ISEG and Hospital da Luz. The main goal was to assess compliance for 153 patients diagnosed with endometriosis in 2021. The first step consisted of modeling the clinical process, associated with the pathology under study, in the BPMN language. Then, the clinical data, made available by the information system of Hospital da Luz, was treated and processed. Finally, the ProM software, helped detect irregularities and patterns through the extraction of information from the program and, consequently, to propose improvements in order to increase the quality of the medical services provided. The results point to the conclusion that no patient in the sample followed a path in full compliance with the theoretical assumptions of Hospital da Luz. On average, more than half of the patients presented low levels of compliance, which suggests room for improvement regarding the adherence to theoretical recommendations in the real context.
