Abstract(s)
Embora o bloqueio e simultaneamente o desbloqueio sejam
determinantes para o desenvolvimento do projeto, a constante
This research was carried out as part of the final work for a Master’s Degree in Communication Design. It is an investigation that addresses the area of Design Fixation, focusing on the creative process and its importance in the state of design students at portuguese universities and colleges. Creative block is associated with the inability to generate new ideas, experiences, among others. In their book “Wired to Create”, Scott Kaufman and Carolyn Gregoire (2015) argue that one of the main characteristics of ´ a creative block is the challenge inherent in understanding it. The practice of creativity is not a linear process; experimentation - trial and error - self-reflection on what is produced and, above all, understanding one’s own creative process are fundamental to understanding the causes of the block. Although the initial stuckness and, at the same time, the breaking of the stuckness are decisive for the development of the project, the constant rotation of thoughts between students, teachers and creatives enables not only the development of ideas, but also, increasingly, the possibility for the student to think creatively. In this way, the learning object - podcast - appears in this research as an enabler for the creative process of design students, as well as the generation of thoughts, ideas and, ideally, the breaking down of situations of stuckness.
