Curadoria de uma educação para a sustentabilidade: o serviço educativo do Centro de Arte Moderna da Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian - a influência do design na criação de atividades educativas

Resumo(s)

This report aims to present the Curricular Internship developed in the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation (FCG), in order to obtain a Master’s degree in Design for Sustainability, from the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Lisbon. The internship took place between January and May 2022 specifically in the Educational Service of CAM – Centro de Arte Moderna, enabling the intern to actively participate in the launch and development of projects in partnership with the different departments of the FCG, this was possible due to the previous connection of professor Ana Vasconcelos and the head of the team of the Education Service, Susana Gomes da Silva. Following the Master of Design for Sustainability, the intern chose to focus on activities centered on the social dimension of sustainability. More specifically in the area of education, where the main objective, in the institution where the internship took place, is the cultivation of constructive opinion - promoting exploration and search enabling the development of a critical opinion. This aspect is identified as essential in the curricular and personal development of young people, as established in the Sustainable Development Goals defined by the United Nations in 2015, allowing them to develop personal, intellectual and academic skills so that they can participate in finding more sustainable alternatives. In this report, we describe all the activities developed and the main functions performed in CAM's Education Service. As the experience unfolded, the trainee had the opportunity to program and mediate a short-term educational process. This action is a contribution left to the Educational Service of CAM that can also be part as a space, idea and presence, in the social, community and educational formation of FCG and other institutions. In the end, it presents a reflection according to the experience of the trainee, about the importance of museums in contributing to sustainable development and six key ideas and questions about the Museum, as a space, idea, and presence, in social, community, and educational training
