O capítulo 1 refere-se aos conceitos gerais no âmbito dos dispositivos médicos.
A presente monografia inicia-se com a definição de dispositivos médicos e com a
descrição de alguns marcos históricos no seu desenvolvimento, bem como as actuais
perspectivas futuras. Em seguida apresentam-se as diferentes classes de dispositivos
médicos e alguns exemplos referentes às mesmas. Segue-se uma breve introdução ao
mercado actual dos dispositivos médicos, o percurso que visa a sua inclusão no
mesmo e a vigilância pós-mercado. Finalmente são abordadas as principais diferenças
entre os dispositivos médicos e os medicamentos.
O capítulo 2 refere-se a exemplos de aplicações dos dispositivos médicos.
Inicia-se com a contextualização dos dispositivos médicos em dermatologia.
Abordam-se alguns conceitos gerais relativos à estrutura e funções da pele. Seguemse
exemplos do uso de dispositivos médicos em dermatologia, como os produtos
usados em cuidados de feridas, tecnologias no combate ao envelhecimento cutâneo e
o uso de formulações semi-sólidas para o tratamento de algumas doenças da pele. Por
fim, são abordados alguns futuros campos de investigação na área dos dispositivos
médicos, relativos a doenças com maior morbilidade mundial.
The first chapter refers to general concepts in the field of medical devices This monograph begins with the definition of medical devices and with the description of some historical stages during its development, as well as future prespectives. Then, different classes of medical devices will be aproached along with some examples. Coming next, a brief introduction about the medical devices market, its inclusion within and the post market surveillance. Finally, the most important differences between medical devices and drugs are approached. The second chapter refers to examples of aplications of medical devices. It initiates with the contextualization of medical devices in dermatology. General concepts about the structure and function of the skin are describe. Then, some examples are given about the use of medical devices in dermatology, like the products used in wounds and a few alternatives fighting against skin aging. In the end, future investigation fields are approached in the medical devices area, linked with diseases that have a higher worldwide death rate.
