O projecto desenvolve-se no Parque das Freiras, em Lagos, num vazio urbano, desconectado da cidade, criando uma bolsa invisível junto ao interior do recinto muralhado da cidade, e que servia no séc. XIV como terreno agrícola de apoio ao convento. Pretende-se reabilitar o parque através de uma zona cultural – uma biblioteca que remata a ala sul do parque, e uma zona habitacional que qualifica a ala oposta. Pretende-se ainda integrar duas praças públicas e diluir o carácter de barreira que existe intra e extramuros. Foi dada maior importância ao complexo habitacional, tendo em atenção o papel dos vários espaços intermédios, que estabelecem a articulação entre diferentes escalas do habitar, deste modo, o trabalho centra-se na análise cuidada destas transições hierárquicas de domínios – do público ao privado - valorizando espaços de circulação, que surgem como uma oportunidade de apropriação e convívio de forma a fomentar uma unidade de vizinhança. A proposta de intervenção representa uma oportunidade de pôr em prática a investigação teórica. Desde um plano de escala pública, com praças e ruas, passando pelo domínio colectivo e espaços de uso controlado, até ao interior do fogo, de uso privado. Este projecto pretende um olhar mais atento para questões de natureza programática dos edifícios de habitação colectiva, de modo a que o habitar colectivo esteja cada vez mais presente na actualidade.
The project is developed in the Parque das Freiras, in Lagos, in an urban void, disconnected from the city, creating an invisible pocket within the city's walled enclosure serving in the 14th century as an agricultural land to support the convent. The intention is to rehabilitate the park through a cultural zone – A library on the south wing of the park, and a housing area on the opposite wing. It is also intended to qualify two public squares and dilute the natural barrier character existing intra and extramural. Greater importance was given to the housing complex, taking into account the role of the various intermediate spaces, which establish the articulation between different scales of living, thus, the work focuses on the careful analysis of these hierarchical transitions of domains – from public to private. Valuing circulation spaces, which arise as an opportunity for appropriation and conviviality in order to foster a neighborhood unit. The intervention proposal represents an opportunity to put into practice the theoretical research. From a public scale plan, with squares and streets, through the collective domain and spaces of controlled use, to the interior of the fire, of private use. This project intends to take a closer look at issues of a programmatic nature of collective housing buildings, so that living in community is increasingly present today.
