Os Fundos de Co-Investimento com BAs são ainda uma realidade bastante recente na Europa e no Mundo, mas o seu desenvolvimento tem sido bastante significativo nos últimos anos, sendo um mecanismo que tem permitido aos BAs serem um dos players mais ativos no financiamento a empresas nas fases early stage.
Sendo estes fundos, na sua maioria, co-financiados com fundos públicos importa perceber, não só o porquê do Estado intervir nesta fase do early stage, como também os resultados a que se tem chegado e como tem sido feita a avaliação dos mesmos.
Esta dissertação, tendo por base os poucos dados que existem disponíveis a este nível, pretende contribuir para que Portugal, que foi um dos países pioneiros neste tipo de mecanismo, possua uma metodologia de avaliação para os seus fundos de co-investimento com BAs, que possibilite em devido tempo uma análise rigorosa dos resultados alcançados.
The co-investment funds with BAs are a recent reality in Europe and the World, but it's development has been quite significant in the last few years, being a mechanism that has allowed the BAs to be the most active players in financing companies in the early stage phases. Once these funds, in it's majority, are co-financed with public funds, it's important to understand not only why the government intervene's in these phase of the early stage as well as the results that have been obtained and their evaluation. This dissertation, based on the few data available at this level, is a contribution for Portugal, which is one of the pioneer countries in this kind of mechanism, to have a method of evaluation for it's funds of co-investments with BAs, achieving in due time a rigorous analysis of the results achieved.
