The concept of Library Network was created as a measure to compensate for the shortcomings libraries suffer individually regarding the information they possess. It’s a solution underpinned by the cooperation between libraries which seek to compensate for their faults through mutual aid and information-sharing. However, with the proposal of cooperation between libraries arises the potential for confrontation between the libraries and their policies, in turn implying conflict and adjustment. The following academic work seeks to study the case of the Library of the Naval School and it’s integration in the National Defense Libraries Network, with a special focus on the network’s impact on the library’s cataloguing process.
