Este trabalho, realizado no âmbito do Projeto Final de Mestrado concretiza-se numa
proposta de intervenção na área junto à estação de Agualva-Cacém. A temática
apresentada reflete sobre a estreita relação entre as interfaces e o desenvolvimento
urbano, com o intuito de compreender e melhorar a multifuncionalidade.
Os interfaces são elementos que preconizam diversas funções, estruturando-se
como importantes polos de desenvolvimento. Contudo, por vezes, pelas suas
dimensões e características funcionais, surgem como barreiras no território.
É sobre essa temática que se debruça esta análise, sobre como construir espaços
multifuncionais, e de referência na cidade, articulados com as infraestruturas que
possam gerar novas dinâmicas. O principal objetivo do trabalho é a reformulação do
interface de Agualva-Cacém reafirmando a sua centralidade na área metropolitana
de Lisboa.
Partindo da definição de uma estratégia global para a linha de Sintra,
consequentemente a uma proposta para área intervenção alicerçada na criação de
polos de atratividade, os espaços dotados de novas infraestruturas de suporte, como
novas redes de transporte, novos usos do solo e espaços públicos, o que contribuirá
para uma melhoria na mobilidade e acessibilidade, com o intuito de colmata as
carências da área e criar um espaço estruturado e devidamente integrado no
ambiente circundante.
O sucesso desta intervenção passa, também, pelo correto planeamento dos usos
associados à interface de transportes, para que tenha uma vida permanente.

ABSTRACT: This work, carried out in the framework of the Final Master's Project, is part of a proposal for intervention in the area next to the Agualva-Cacém station. The theme presented reflects on the close relationship between interfaces and urban development, in order to understand and improve multifunctionality. Interfaces are elements that advocate various functions, structuring themselves as important centers of development. However, sometimes, due to their dimensions and functional characteristics, they arise as barriers in the territory. It is on this theme that this analysis focuses on how to build multifunctional spaces, and reference in the city, articulated with the infrastructures that can generate new dynamics. The main objective of the work is the reformulation of the Agualva-Cacém interface reaffirming its centrality in the metropolitan area of Lisbon. Starting from the definition of a global strategy for the Sintra line, consequently to a proposal for intervention area based on the creation of attractiveness poles, spaces with new support infrastructures, such as new transport networks, new land uses and public spaces, which will contribute to an improvement in mobility and accessibility, in order to fill the needs of the area and create a structured and properly integrated space in the surrounding environment. The success of this intervention also involves the correct planning of the uses associated with the transport interface, so that it has a permanent life.
