Inorganic fertilization has a clear impact on farm economy and on carbon footprint. Input reduction of mineral fertilizers will reduce the impact of this activity on GHG emissions as fertilizers produced in the farms should not be transported. This paper aims at reducing the inputs of nitrogen in a plantation of Juglans hybrid carried out in 2004. The experiment started in 2010 when six-year old trees had 11.4 dbh and 7.3 m of height. The experiment followed a desing of randomized block with two replicas. Treatments consisted of a sowing of Vicia villosa in alleys established at both sides of trees or ploughing. Vicia villosa sowing improved tree dbh and increased tree leaves concentrations of nitrogen and phosphorous.por
