O trabalho que ora se apresenta insere-se no âmbito do Curso de Mestrado em
Ciências da Educação - Especialização em Administração Educacional, tendo por tema
o “O Papel do Diretor Escolar” e por objeto de estudo o trabalho/ação da Diretora
Escolar de uma escola dos arredores de Lisboa.
O nosso trabalho aborda a forma como a Diretora escolar desenvolve a sua ação
durante um dia de trabalho. Pretendemos conhecer de perto as suas práticas,
estabelecendo uma ligação com a legislação e fazer uma análise aos papéis, funções e à
sua tomada de decisão.
No nosso enquadramento teórico sobre a problemática em análise, fazemos uma
reflexão sobre as funções do Diretor numa organização escolar, a importância do seu
trabalho e também a sua contextualização.
Na realização do nosso trabalho, utilizámos a investigação qualitativa ou
naturalista – estudo de caso. Os instrumentos de recolha de dados utilizados foram:
observação não participante de um dia de trabalho de uma Diretora Escolar, uma
entrevista semiestruturada à mesma e a análise documental. Utilizámos a análise de
conteúdo como técnica para tratamento dos dados recolhidos.
Com este trabalho verificámos que a Diretora escolar adota uma conceção
predominantemente burocrática nas suas ações. Aferimos a dificuldade da Diretora no
relacionamento com os seus novos parceiros, nomeadamente membros do orgão de
gestão devido ao novo mega agrupamento.
Constámos ainda, o empenho constante da Diretora na resolução dos problemas
coordenando as atividades, sugerindo ideias e a preocupação de envolver os pares e toda
a comunidade educativa nas diferentes ações tendo em vista o sucesso dos alunos.
The work presented here is within the scope of the Master's Degree in Education - Specialization in Educational Administration, and by the theme "The Role of School Director" and object of study work / action of the Director of a School from a school on the outskirts of Lisbon. Our work addresses how the school Director develops its action during a work day. We intend to have a close their practices, connecting with the law and to analyze the roles, functions and its decision making. In our theoretical framework on the issue under review, we reflect on the functions of the Director in the school organization, the importance of their work and also their context. In carrying out our work, we used qualitative or naturalistic research - case study. The instruments of data collection were used: non-participant observation of a day's work for a School Director, a semistructured interview and the same document analysis. We used content analysis as a technique for processing the collected data. With this study we verified that the School Director adopts a school’s design predominantly bureaucratic in their actions. We measure in the Director’s difficulty in the relationship with their new partners, including members of the governing body, due to the new mega cluster. We also noticed that the constant commitment of the Director in the problems’ resolution of coordinating activities, suggesting ideas and concerns involved her pairs and all educational community in different actions in view of the students’ success.
