O artigo resume a análise acentual do Português apresentada por ANDRADE & LAKS
(1991), que se adapta à descrição do dialecto do litoral alentejano. Os dados desse dialecto
indicam que há alterações sensíveis nas formas de superfície das palavras, que conspiram
para a criação de um ritmo acentual paroxítono em palavras estruturalmente oxítonas e
proparoxítonas.
The article summarizes the analysis of lexical stress of Portuguese by ANDRADE & LAKS (1991) that fits the description of the dialect of Alentejo coast. The data in this dialect indicate that there are changes in the surface forms of words bearing the stress in antepenultimate or in the final syllabe. These processes create the most regular stress pattern, thatis, in the penult syllable.
