Abstract(s)
A proposta de intervenção apresentada neste projeto de final de mestrado tem lugar na
Manutenção Militar de Lisboa, e teve como base um trabalho teórico-prático com foco
na reutilização de espaços industriais. Foi então necessário perceber e distinguir as
diferentes formas de intervenção em edifícios existentes, e perceber a sua aplicação em
edifícios de índole industrial.
Como base de intervenção apresenta-se também uma análise do local que é composto
por um extenso complexo de edifícios, que se localiza na freguesia do Beato. Este foi
um dos pontos mais importantes do abastecimento do exército português no séc. XX
que, após o seu encerramento, se tornou uma “cidade fantasma”. O desafio passa por
perceber como se pode reintegrar estes edifícios novamente no tecido e nas funções da
cidade, focando a intervenção em dois dos edifícios.
Tratando-se de uma intervenção de reabilitação, este projeto teve também uma reflexão
sobre como a matéria e a materialidade podem desempenhar um papel principal na
conceção do projeto, e como se aplica esta abordagem quando se trata de edifícios
existentes.
ABSTRACT: The intervention proposal presented in this master's project takes place in the Military Maintenance of Lisbon, and was based on a theoretical-practical work focusing on the reuse of industrial spaces. The first part of the work was to understand and distinguish the different forms of intervention in existing buildings, and to perceive their application in industrial heritage. As an intervention basis, it is also presented an analysis of the site that is composed of an extensive complex of buildings, which is located in Beato. This was one of the most important points of the supply of the Portuguese army in the century XX that, after the closure, has become a "ghost town". The challenge is to understand how to reintegrate these buildings into the territory and functions of the city, focusing on an intervention in two of the buildings This project also had a reflection on how matter and materiality can play a major role in the design of the project, and how this approach is applied in the case of existing buildings.
