| dc.description.abstract | Na atual sociedade cada vez mais global, onde o “encontro com o outro” constitui uma realidade diária, o tema do diálogo inter-religioso e intercultural revela-se cada vez mais pertinente. No processo de procura por formas de integrar e lidar com a diferença, o exemplo de vida e a obra de Bede Griffiths constituem um modelo de Diálogo inter-religioso entre o “Ocidente” e o “Oriente” que conservam relevância e aplicabilidade na atualidade. Bede Griffiths foi um padre inglês, monge beneditino e sannyāsi que viveu na Índia durante quase quatro décadas. Escreveu vários livros nos quais explora a complementaridade entre o Cristianismo e o Hinduísmo, em especial com o sistema Advaita Vedānta, e foi responsável pelo Saccidānanda ashram, um templo ecuménico em Tamil Nadu. Este trabalho tem como objetivo apresentar as principais ideias teológicas de Bede Griffiths, assim como a sua proposta de Diálogo inter-religioso que assenta numa abordagem contemplativa e interespiritual. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | In a global society, where the "encounter with the other" constitutes a daily reality, the theme of inter-religious and intercultural dialogue is increasingly relevant. In the process of finding ways to integrate and deal with what is different, the work of Bede Griffiths presents itself as a model of Dialogue between the "western" and "eastern" cultures that still retains relevance and applicability. Bede Griffiths was an English priest, Benedictine monk and sannyāsi who lived in India for nearly four decades, wrote several books which explore the complementarity between Christianity and Hinduism, particularly with the Advaita Vedānta system, and was responsible for the Saccidānanda ashram, a still-functioning ecumenical temple in Tamil Nadu. This work aims to present the main theological ideas of Bede Griffiths, as well as his proposal for interreligious dialogue based on a contemplative and interspiritual approach. | pt_PT |
