Abstract(s)
Tarot is an esoteric practice popularized today through card reading videos on social media. A Tarot deck consists of 78 cards, all of which have drawings that aim to illustrate their meaning. Due to its popularity, there are many versions of this type of card deck on sale on the market, however, there is no version that makes zero use of fantasy, is modern and follows the hierarchical structure of the Rider-Waite Tarot, the most popular Tarot deck. There is also none that combines the name and number of the cards with their design. It is in order to fill this void in the market - of a contemporary deck, illustrated in color, faithful to the hierarchical structure used in the organization of Pamela Colman Smith's drawings and that integrates the name and number of the card with its design - that I carry out this project design and illustration of 22 Tarot playing cards, 22 of which correspond to the Major Arcana. In order to complete this project, the work is divided into two stages, a first phase of research and comparison in which I compared various existing decks as well as their current symbolic interpretations and a second phase corresponding to the process of drawing the cards by means of digital illustration.
