O tempo dos inimigos: reflexões sobre uma antropologia da repressão no século XXI

Neste artigo pretendo indagar sobre uma “antropologia da repressão”. Retomando antigas propostas do antropólogo francês Marc Augé, reflito sobre a pertinência de uma antropologia da repressão para o estudo de dimensões políticas e experienciais da vida social. Para tal, elaboro um itinerário conceptual da repressão do ponto de vista antropológico, para depois propor um exercício de demarcação sobre dois aspectos que lhe são (a priori) inerentes: a temporalidade e a dialética.

Double Presence: Proselytism and Belonging in an Angolan Prophetic Church's Diaspora in Europe

This article discusses the issue of proselytism and belonging among Angolan Christians in Europe, namely those belonging to the Tokoist Church, a propheticbased movement originated in Angola in the 1940s and later transnationalized into other African countries and Europe. Invoking fieldwork performed with the church in Lisbon and Luanda, I suggest that religious proselytism in diasporic contexts, as an expression of transnational religiosity, cannot be analyzed without approaching the issue of identity and belonging, which in turn is processed through the production of 'double presences,' a reflection of the multiple agencies and territorialities in which migrants are involved.
Moral circumscriptions: involuntary mobility, diaspora and ideological configurations in the Angolan Tokoist church

This article proposes to debate the relationship between mobility, faith and belonging, exploring the idea of “moral circumscriptions” to describe how one particular African Christian movement, the Tokoist church, experienced a historical process of territorial transcendence, from a regional, ethnic movement to a global venture, responding with a complex set of ideologies attached to ideas of place. The article highlights the – often tense and conflictual – political and ideological processes of identitary construction developed within the church.
