Concepção de ambientes fantásticos : os arquétipos das Selecções do Reader's Digest

Abstract

The subject of this dissertation relates to the design of geomorphological natural landscapes in fantastic narratives and their intersection with the archetypes of environments found in the Reader's Digest Editions. From there, concept art of geomorphological natural environments will be devised, which will later be integrated into the design of a game called Winds of Berkana, developed at GameDevTécnico. The choice of this mix comes from a place of memory where the individual synapses of the generation born between 1970 and 1990 were built based on some of the books and stimuli provided by this publisher. This is the generation that lived through a childhood without the advent of the internet. Based on theoretical and practical research, using bibliography, documentation such as the publications of Reader's Digest Editions, and a semiotic approach - analysing the signs and archetypes present in this dissertation, we hope to define a methodology that is efficient and strategic in the face of the demand for this type of project, using the intuitive method based on the author's history, personal journey and creative intuition.
