La cuestión antropológica del Primer Alcibíades a la luz de sus paradigmas

Abstract

La presente tesis aborda la cuestión de la naturaleza humana en el diálogo platónico Alcibíades I o Primer Alcibíades, centrando la atención en el uso de paradigmas como herramientas dialécticas usadas de forma implícita para guiar la investigación. Inicialmente, se establece el contexto del diálogo y se justifica una interpretación hermenéutica que lo considera auténtico y perteneciente a la etapa tardía de Platón. Luego, se explora la noción de paradigma en la dialéctica platónica, diferenciándola del ejemplo simple y situándola como una herramienta para descubrir similitudes estructurales entre diferentes dominios de la realidad. A continuación, se analiza detalladamente el texto del Alcibíades I, identificando y examinando los paradigmas utilizados para investigar la naturaleza humana a partir de la confluencia de tres elementos: el alma, el cuerpo y su relación. Se concluye que estos paradigmas usados para investigar la naturaleza humana pueden reunirse como una familia de antropologías característicamente platónicas. Esta familia de antropologías contrasta con las concepciones antropológicas de la época, como las de Homero o las órfico-pitagóricas, al interpretar el cuerpo como un instrumento que el alma está en capacidad de usar para hacerse virtuosa y ejercer la política.

This thesis addresses the question of human nature in Plato's dialogue Alcibiades I or First Alcibiades, focusing on the use of paradigms as dialectical tools employed implicitly to guide the investigation. Initially, the context of the dialogue is established, and a hermeneutic interpretation is justified, considering it authentic and belonging to Plato's later period. Then, the notion of paradigm in Platonic dialectic is explored, distinguishing it from simple examples and positioning it as a tool to discover structural similarities between different domains of reality. Subsequently, the text of Alcibiades I is analyzed in detail, identifying and examining the paradigms used to investigate human nature from the convergence of three elements: the soul, the body, and their relationship. It is concluded that these paradigms used to investigate human nature can be grouped together as a family of characteristically Platonic anthropologies. This family of anthropologies contrasts with the anthropological conceptions of the time, such as those of Homer or the Orphic-Pythagorean, by interpreting the body as an instrument that the soul is capable of using to become virtuous and to engage in politics.
