A principal referĆŖncia deste livro Ć© a figura do almirante Zheng He (c. 1371-c. 1435), o cĆ©lebre navegador chinĆŖs de origem muƧulmana que, entre 1405 e 1421, foi encarregado pelo imperador Yongle (r. 1403-1424) de conduzir seis grandes expediƧƵes oficiais aos mares da Ćsia do Sueste, a CeilĆ£o, Ć Ćndia, ao Golfo PĆ©rsico, ao Mar Vermelho e Ć costa oriental de Ćfrica compreendida entre, pelo menos, a actual SomĆ”lia e Melinde.
The main reference in this book is the figure of Admiral Zheng He (c. 1371-c. 1435), the famous Chinese navigator of Muslim origin who, between 1405 and 1421, was entrusted by Emperor Yongle (r. 1403-1424) of transit six major official expeditions to the seas of Southeast Asia, Ceylon, India, the Persian Gulf, the Red Sea and the east coast of Africa between, at least, present-day Somalia and Malindi.
