Nesta dissertação, serão analisadas e identificadas as representações medievais contidas em Notre-Dame de Paris do autor Victor Hugo, uma vez que a obra literária tem como pano de fundo, a cidade de Paris do século XV. Para tal finalidade, primeiramente, fez-se um estudo sobre a vida nas cidades medievais que envolve o aspecto físico e social; em seguida, comentaram-se a vida e obras de Victor Hugo, dando foco à obra indicada bem como à catedral de Notre Dame do ponto de vista histórico. A partir disso, o trabalho visa apontar e descrever historicamente a presença dos elementos medievais existentes no romance.
This dissertation identifies and analyses medieval representations in Notre-Dame de Paris by author Victor Hugo, because the literary work has the city of Paris in the 15th century as its background. For this purpose, firstly, a study is carried out on the physical and social aspects of life in medieval cities; secondly, the work sets out on the commentary of the life and works of Victor Hugo, concentrated on the previously indicated book with the historical focus on the Notre Dame Cathedral. From this, the work aims at pointing out and describe historically medieval elements in the novel.
