O presente trabalho localiza num corpus lírico de Fados do repertório de Amália Rodrigues as reminiscências e ecos clássicos da cultura grega antiga, por meio das ideias de tragicidade, destino, fatalidade, religiosidade, vingança e culpa, elegendo-os como pontos centrais de estudo. Propondo um olhar para a Grécia Clássica a partir desse corpus fadista, tomado aqui portanto como objeto principal, e tendo como base teórica uma contextualização histórica das origens do Fado e da biografia da cantora portuguesa, puderam ser tecidos comentários críticos que evidenciam relações de influência e/ou marcas classicizantes por meio do trânsito cultural estabelecido entre os países e suas literaturas ao longo dos séculos, mas sobretudo o modo como tal herança, transversal ao mundo ocidental, deu-se particularmente no Fado a partir da amostra de letras e poemas aqui selecionados. Para tanto, como embasamento conceitual, a dissertação valeu-se também de uma amostragem da literatura grega, convocada sempre que uma análise comparada se mostrasse organicamente importante para evidenciar as relações propostas. Neste sentido, fizeram-se presentes também pensadores de áreas afins, sobretudo a Filosofia e a Crítica Literária, tendo como apoio fundamental a Musicologia e a Historiografia.
The present work locates in a lyrical corpus of Fados from the repertoire of Amália Rodrigues the classic reminiscences and echoes of ancient Greek culture, through the ideas of tragedy, destiny, fatality, religiosity, revenge and guilt, hence choosing them as central points of study. By proposing a look at Classical Greece based on this fadista corpus, thus taking it here as the main object and having as theoretical basis a historical contextualization of the origins of Fado and the biography of the Portuguese singer, critical comments could be made evidencing the relations of influence and / or classicizing marks through the cultural transit established between countries and their literature over the centuries. Above all, this work approaches the way in which this heritage, transversal to the western world, took place particularly in Fado from the sample of letters and poems selected here . Therefore, as a conceptual basis, the dissertation also used a sample of Greek literature, which was called upon whenever a comparative analysis proved to be organically important to highlight the proposed relationships. In this sense, thinkers from related areas were also incorporated, especially from Philosophy and Literary Criticism, with Musicology and Historiography as their fundamental support.
