This study has a qualitative nature and is based on a case analysis that aims to assess the innovative practices and digital technologies employed in public health teaching at two Brazilian medical universities (University A and University B). More specifically, this study focuses on the course of Medical Practice in the Brazilian Public Health System (SUS) and seeks to analyze the integration of innovative practices and digital technologies in its teaching and learning practice. To this end, a documental analysis of the Pedagogical Project of the Medical Practice course of the two universities was carried out and interviews were made with four teachers (chosen in a convenient way) from the 1st and 2nd years. Regarding results analysis, it was employed the content analysis technique and it was found that the two universities analyzed have gradually integrated innovative practices and digital technologies in the public health teaching of medical students. In the last year, 2020, these practices and technologies became more present in both universities due the emergency response required by the pandemic of COVID-19.
