Abstract(s)
There is a significant increase on debates about environmental issues and the necessity of finding solutions to solve this problem. The Circular Economy appears as a response based on a circular model where waste becomes a resource, thus, promoting a logical consumption of resources. This work studies approaches in the application of the Circular Economy in Região de Lisboa e Vale do Tejo, by identifying economical activities with most impact and partnerships between regions that can potentialize the introduction of the circular principles. Through the use of localization measures and specialization and the multivariate statistics, as in factorial analysis and clusters analysis, in order to obtain a new territory vision, and thus, be able to debate about the role of Land Planning and its relationship with environmental sustainability. Within this study it was possible to verify that agriculture and processing industry activities show big potential to this case study because of the weight they have in the localization quotient calculus. Furthermore, the partnerships, can become an essential key in establishing industry symbiosis, defended by the Circular Economy and the creation of sustainability strategies within those partnerships.
