Abstract(s)
It is from endless observation of clouds, as well as the study of cloud typology, that the purpose of this study arises, which complements and gives meaning to Pharmakon. Pharmakon is a video on clouds which explores the relationship between the infinite possible varieties of forms in clouds, categorisable or not, their r expressions. The theoretical foundation for this study links to the reading of “O Jogo das Nuvens” by Goethe, where the characteristics attributed to clouds, such as volatility, constant mutation and the fact that they are something that persists, evokes my interest. Based on the reading of “O Pensamento Morfológico de Goethe” from Maria Filomena Molder, I decided to focus this study on the form and metamorphosis mentioned by the author. In addition, I survey the treatment in Art History and Literature of the observation and study of clouds in the fields of Nephology and Morphology, bringing together themes for a better understanding of metaphorical and symbolic meaning. Clouds and their typology, according to a particular method of observation, are here distinguished and analysed through a game of transformation and mutation. At the same time, the study of clouds is related to the study of form: the shapes of shapeless. Continuity and change are found in the footage and encourage thought clouds. The metamorphosis of clouds makes them the never-ceasing engine that I hope can be seen though Pharmakon. Lastly, Pharmakon is an invitation to think about the possibility of a morphological doctrine of clouds; that by reinventing their form through transformation and metamorphosis, they create a new image of the world
