Com o visível avanço tecnológico que oconeu a partir dos anos 90, swgiram, em
muitos casos, dois obstáculos ao acesso à informação: o não conhecimento de línguas
estrangeiras e a ausência de formação tecnológica. A tradução e adaptação dos
conteúdos do software aos diferentes contextos geopolíticos foi a solução encontrada
para quebrar a barreira em relação às línguas. Este processo, comurrunente chamado
"localização de software", engloba a tradução e adaptação dos conteúdos,
nomeadamente os técnicos e os de ajuda ao utilizador, bem como a adaptação da
imagética e de outros aspetos gráficos do software aos diferentes públicos-alvo.
Apesar de alocalização estar frequentemente associada ao sofntare, esta atividade vai
muito para além do domínio informático. Em resultado do constante processo de
globalização, os mais variados tipos de produtos e serviços já nos chegam numa
versão adaptadaà realidade onde se inserem.
O presentc trabalho de projeto tem como objetivo lacalizar de Espanhol para
Porhrguês a aplicação informática Simple Extraclor e descrever esse processo,
evidenciando as dificuldades que surgiram e quais foram as soluções encontradas, de
forma a manter a eficiência comunicacional dos conteúdos para o utilizador
porhrguês. Neste contcxto também se exploram quais as Tecnologias de Informação
Linguística úteis para a localízação de softwarq nomeadamente para o processo de
tradução-
Due to the technological advancement that took place in the 90's and is still visible, access information faced two obstacles: lack of proficiency in foreign languages and of technological training. Translation and adaptation of software contents to different geopolitical contexts was the solution encountered to break the language banier. This process, generally called "software localisation", includes the translation of contents, namely technical ones and those of help to the user, as well as the adaptation of images and other graphic aspects of the software to different target markets. Although localisation is frequently associated to soffware, this activity is executed in many other fields. As a result of the ongoing process of globalization, all kinds of products and services are already launched in an adapted version to the reality in which they operate. This project work aims to localise an app, simple Extractor, from spanish to Poúuguese and to describe this process, pointing out the difficulties that arose and the solutions found to maintain the communicational efficiency of the contents to the Portuguese user. In this context, this work also explores which Linguistic lnformation Technologies are useful for software localisation, mainly for the kanslation process.
