A presente dissertação visa apresentar as tendências no ensino-aprendizagem do vocabulário no âmbito de E-Learning. A aprendizagem das línguas estrangeiras online tem ganhado muita popularidade, especialmente nos últimos anos, com o surgimento das SNS/SNSLL, redes sociais para ensino de línguas. Visto que o vocabulário representa uma componente linguística de importância crucial para a comunicação, procuramos prescrutar os modos do seu ensino-aprendizagem neste ambiente de forma a identificar traços pedagógicos distintivos em comparação com o ensino, agora e aqui denominado, tradicional. Para conseguir tal objetivo, primeiro investigámos as características mais proeminentes do E-Learning, as suas vantagens e desvantagens, bases teóricas e ferramentas. Depois, expomos os pontos mais salientes da produção científica na área do ensino-aprendizagem do vocabulário. Por último, com essas informações em mente, elaborámos a análise sustentada de páginas e plataformas previa e criteriosamente escolhidas.
The main purpose of this master thesis is the presentation of current tendencies in the process of learning and teaching vocabulary in E-Learning environment. Foreign language learning online has become very popular, especially in the last years with the emergence of SNS/SNSLL, social networking sites for language learning. Since the vocabulary presents an important linguistic component for the communication, the author of this thesis wanted to investigate the ways of its teaching and learning in the aforementioned environment and verify the existence of possible differences between E-Learning and the so-called traditional way of teaching. In order to reach this objective, we first investigated the most prominent characteristics of E-Learning, its advantages and disadvantages, theoretical bases and tools. Later, we reveiled the most important parts of the scientific production concerning learning and teaching of vocabulary. Finally, bearing in mind this information, we undertook the practical analyses of the previously chosen web pages and platforms.
