Embutido no universo da Educação Não Formal, o Teatro do Oprimido
apresenta-se como um meio de assimilação do mundo e um instrumento de
desbloqueio para percecionar e desvendar o conhecimento, por via dos sentidos e da
estética, constituindo-se num método (teatral) facilitador para a reflexão crítica sobre
os problemas sociais.
Com este estudo pretende-se analisar de que forma a metodologia do Teatro do
Oprimido, na sua teoria e prática, funciona como um instrumento eficaz na
compreensão da realidade e na procura de alternativas para os problemas sociais e
interpessoais emergentes, potenciando estratégias de emancipação social.
O estudo empírico pauta-se por uma metodologia qualitativa, optando-se pela
abordagem de estudo de caso, cujos principais instrumentos de recolha de dados
foram a revisão bibliográfica e as entrevistas semiestruturadas. Foram também
recolhidos alguns dados através de observação.
Paralelamente, este trabalho conjuga os pressupostos teóricos da Pedagogia do
Oprimido de Paulo Freire, apresentando argumentos que justifiquem as conexões
entre a proposta pedagógica de Freire e a metodologia de Boal.
Built in the universe of Non-Formal Education, the Theatre of the Oppressed presents itself as a mean of assimilation of the world and an unlocking tool for perceiving and unravel knowledge, through the senses and aesthetics, becoming a facilitator method (theatrical) for critical reflection on social problems. This study aims to analyze how the methodology of Theatre of the Oppressed, in its theory and practice, serves as an effective tool in the understanding of reality and the search for alternatives to the emerging social and interpersonal problems, promoting social empowerment strategies . The empirical study is guided by a qualitative methodology, choosing the case study approach, whose main instruments of data collection were literature review and semistructured interviews. Some data were also collected through observation. In parallel, this work combines the theoretical assumptions of Pedagogy of the Oppressed by Paulo Freire, presenting arguments that justify the connections between pedagogical proposal of Freire and Boal methodology.
