This dissertation intends to elaborate about the topic of Morality in Art. To consider this subject, we have chosen the author Paul Ricoeur and his body of thought as a starting point. In the same way, and since it is a very broad theme, we have chosen to focus on the twentieth century – where we understand there was a significant turning point regarding morality in the artistic expression. We will introduce the historical context that we considered important to underline, as well as highlight what precedes and follows Nieztsche's striking ideas that lead to a divine gap in the twentieth century. In order to articulate our considerations and look for a point of view that is closer to our experience regarding the aforementioned topics, we have adapted our reasoning, to three basic moments of the artistic creation process: conception, production and perception. We intend to make parallels between Ricoeur's thoughts about morality - largely based on the idea of human action - with these three moments of artistic praxis. At the same time, to relate this practice to the historical and artistic reality of the twentieth century. Finally, we will ponder upon the questions involved, and those that remain open, concerning the relation between morality and art, considering also the contemporary context.pt_PT
