O design democrático e a economia circular no mobiliário doméstico

Resumo(s)

The present work aims to analyze democratic design (DD) and circular economy (EC) in home furnishings, in order to achieve the concept that everyone should have the right to design, defending the fact that it it can and should be accessible to the vast majority of people, and not just to a select group that can afford to pay dearly for them. As a starting point, a brief analysis of the DD concept is presented, discussing some views and definitions of authors and researchers who address the subject, introducing information about the DD of furniture, its dimension in the world and its use in the present day. A historical analysis of consumption is also presented as a way of understanding the great need of the consumer market, without needing to, and how branding affects the relationship between design and the consumer at the moment when the purchase of furniture goes from being a necessary acquisition. for something purchased on impulse, and the impact that this shopping experience influences on the end of the useful life of the furniture. Points are also gathered on EC, which is of great importance for understanding the life cycle of products and its stages and prospects a focus for the practices of the furniture market to objectify in a more sustainable development.
