Nowadays, companies are constantly adapting with the aim of obtaining a competitive advantage over their competitors. It is essential that all departments are aligned with their company's strategic objectives, including the Human Resources Management area, which has evolved over the years, as exemplified by the Human Resources Analytics (HRA) practice/ methodology. For this development to occur, it is necessary to understand the value that these new practices add, allowing company management to meet business needs. Thus, the present study aims to identify the necessary competencies for implementing the HRA methodology. The primary objective is to verify if the HRA profile descriptions, disseminated and detailed in job advertisements in Portugal, align with the profile outlined in the literature. The research includes a review of existing literature, interviews with Portuguese companies listed on the PSI 20, and an analysis of job advertisements in Portugal. The results provide a mapping of the key competencies for HRA professionals and conclude that the identified competency profile should be tailored to each company, according to business needs and strategic objectives.
