No âmbito das medidas de minimização de Impactes Arqueológicos da construção da Barragem da Laje
(Serpa), executadas pela Palimpsesto Lda., a cargo da EDIA, foi identificada uma necrópole tardo-antiga
em Torre Velha 3. Em vinte e três estruturas funerárias de diferentes categorias de construção, foram
identificados vinte e sete indivíduos e duas reduções. Apresentamos problemáticas acerca da cronologia
exacta destes contextos que não oferecem espólio funerário datante e questões sobre o seu enquadramento
cultural e regional.
In the aim of the study on the archaeological impacts resulting from the Laje’s dam construction, under EDIA’s responsability, a Palimpsesto Lda. team identified a Late Antiquity necropolis in Torre Velha 3 (Serpa, Portugal). In twenty-three funerary structures of several construction categories, there have been recognized twenty-seven individuals and two disarticulated bone assemblages.In this paper one questions about the exact chronology of these contexts that do not present grave goods and about their cultural and regional background.
