O objetivo desta dissertação é estudar o impacto da adesão ao Euro na estrutura produtiva portuguesa no período compreendido entre 1996 e 2010. Além disso, propusemo-nos investigar o efeito da apreciação do Euro face ao Dólar norte-americano para os mesmos 15 anos. Para atingir os nossos objectivos construímos um modelo linear-linear.
A principal conclusão a reter é que, entre 1996 e 2010, a adoção do Euro por Portugal e a apreciação do Euro face ao Dólar norte-americano provocaram uma reorientação da estrutura produtiva em direção ao setor não transacionável da economia portuguesa.
The purpose of this dissertation is to study the impact of Euro adoption under Portuguese productive structure during the period between 1996 and 2010. Furthermore, we proposed to investigate the effect of the appreciation of the Euro against the U.S. Dollar for the same 15 years. In order to achieve our goals we design a linear-linear model. The main conclusion to retain is that Portugal?s Euro adoption and the appreciation of the Euro against the U.S. Dollar, between 1996 and 2010, set off a reorientation of the production structure towards the non-tradable sector of Portuguese economy.
