Este trabalho reflete o processo projetual de uma Escola Básica integrada em Setúbal. A investigação incide sobre a arquitetura escolar e na forma como esta pode proporcionar e facilitar a implementação do método de ensino outdoor no ensino básico, não negligenciando a legislação vigente.
Estuda-se a evolução da relação entre a arquitetura e o ensino em termos gerais e com particular destaque no concelho de Setúbal, bem como os principais benefícios associados ao ensino/aprendizagem fora da sala de aula. Reflete-se sobre a adequabilidade deste método de ensino no contexto geográfico e demográfico da cidade de Setúbal. Recorre-se ainda à análise de alguns projetos de arquitetura que evidenciam, ilustram e inspiram formas de atingir o objetivo pretendido. Define-se o conceito e o programa arquitetónicos que permitem desenhar e projetar o espaço de atividades de ensino/aprendizagem de modo integrado na comunidade.
Como resultado obtém-se o projeto arquitetónico de um estabelecimento escolar público que obedece aos requisitos legislativos e se espera que venha a cumprir os objetivos de proporcionar um novo método de ensino que satisfaça os alunos, professores, funcionários e comunidade envolvente.
This document reflects the design process of an integrated Basic School in Setúbal. The research focuses on school architecture and how it can provide and facilitate the implementation of the outdoor teaching/learning method in primary education, not neglecting current legislation. The evolution of the relationship between architecture and teaching is studied in general terms and with particular emphasis on the municipality of Setúbal. The main benefits associated with teaching/learning outside the classroom are also mentioned. It reflects on the suitability of this teaching method in the geographic and demographic context of Setúbal. It also resorts to analyzing some architectural projects that show, illustrate, and inspire ways of achieving the intended objective. The architectural concept and program are defined that allow the designing of the space for teaching/learning activities in an integrated manner in the community. As a result, the architectural design of a public school was obtained that complies with legislative requirements and is expected to fulfill the objectives of providing a new teaching method that satisfies students, teachers, employees, and the surrounding community
