O presente trabalho de investigação pretendeu estudar o jornalismo de proximidade praticado no caso do Telejornal de horário nobre emitido pela RTP-Madeira. Como tal, levantámos como pergunta de partida: de que forma a proximidade se constitui como um dos valor-notícia no Telejornal-Madeira? Os nossos objectivos foram: 1) conhecer os critérios de noticiabilidade privilegiados pela construção noticiosa do Telejornal-Madeira; 2) analisar e caracterizar a estrutura, os conteúdos, os intervenientes, os géneros jornalísticos, bem como o alinhamento deste Telejornal, comparando-o com o Telejornal da RTP1; 3) perceber se os conteúdos veiculados pelo Telejornal regional abrangem os princípios de serviço público.
Para o efeito, utilizamos um método de análise misto que, além da pesquisa bibliográfica, incluiu análise de conteúdo aos telejornais e entrevista em profundidade ao director de informação da RTP-Madeira.
Face aos resultados obtidos, concluímos que o Telejornal-Madeira é um noticiário que pratica jornalismo de proximidade. Além do seu valor-notícia principal ser a proximidade, o peso da informação regional evidencia a sua natureza. Enquanto o Telejornal-RTP1 se centrou essencialmente em questões políticas e assuntos associados ao sensacionalismo, o boletim insular privilegiou os tópicos de cidadania. Também, verificámos que o noticiário madeirense cumpriu no período de análise com a maioria dos princípios de serviço público.
The present research work aimed at studying the proximity of the journalism practiced in the case of primetime newsbulletins broadcast by RTP-Madeira. As such, our research question was: how is proximity constituted as one of the news value in Telejornal Madeira? Our main objectives were: 1) to meet the criteria of newsworthiness privileged by the news construction of Telejornal RTP-Madeira; 2) to analyse and characterize the structure, content, actors, journalistic genres, and the alignment of this newscast, comparing it to the newscast of RTP1; 3) to understand whether the content presented by the Regional Telejornal covers the principles of public service. For this purpose, we use a method of mixed analysis, in addition to literature review, included content analysis to television news and carried out an in-depth interview with the information director at RTP-Madeira. Given the results, we conclude that the Telejornal-Madeira conducts proximity journalism. Apart from its main news-value being proximity, the relevance of the regional information in the programme reflects its nature. While Telejornal-RTP1 focused primarily on political issues and also focused on issues somewhat close to sensationalism, the insular newscast offered additional emphasis on topics of citizenship. In addition, we conclude that the newsbulletin of RTP-Madeira meets, on the whole, with the principles of public service.
