contemporaneidade no contexto português.
This dissertation intends to understand the processes of construction and deconstruction of gender in everyday interactions, practices and discourses carried out by young teenagers in secondary education in a school context. The investigation is guided by the starting question: what are the processes by which secondary school youngsters construct gender identities, given the greater plurality of identity conjugations that can be explored in the contemporary portuguese context? A research based on a qualitative methodology was carried out, using the methodological triangulation observations, focus groups and individual interviews and analysis of student discursive production in three secondary public schools in Lisbon, involving students from the 10th to 12th grades. Its theoretical framework is guided by a sociology at the scale of the individual and grounded in the youth sociology, in the intersectional constructivist perspective of gender and feminist studies, in composition with performativity and queer studies, with an emphasis on young subjects and their actions, perceptions about their lived experiences and the processes involved in social interaction. The study carried out understands the juvenile phase as a rich and full moment of experimentation in the public space and of the construction of gender and sexual identities based on a particularly reflexive, intense and active socialization, as well as the development of individuation and subjectivation of young people. For a deeper and more complex understanding, the intersectional analytical tool articulates contextual markers of difference with the gender dimension, such as the educational path, social class, "race", sexual orientation and body expression of the young participants. The results produced will contribute to a deeper understanding of youth processes, practices, discourses, and representations regarding the construction and production of plural and volatile gender identities.
