Sendo a leitura, um dos objectos da Escola, nomeadamente na disciplina de
língua materna, importa reflectir neste estudo Leitura em contexto pedagógico - a
Biblioteca da Escola Secundária Francisco Rodrigues Lobo sobre como, no Ensino
Secundário, se desenvolve a leitura em contexto pedagógico, sem esquecer a aula de
Português, mas sobretudo, na biblioteca escolar.
Com o Programa da Rede de Bibliotecas Escolares, iniciado em 1998,
depois de aturado estudo da realidade que conduziu ao Relatório Lançar a Rede, as
escolas públicas portuguesas foram podendo candidatar-se a integrar a Rede de
Bibliotecas Escolares, desde que reunissem determinadas condições e
apresentassem uma proposta credível e exequível. Deste modo, foram sendo
implementadas ou reorganizadas bibliotecas escolares por todo o país, como foi o
caso da reorganização da Biblioteca Escolar da Escola Secundária Francisco
Rodrigues Lobo, em Leiria, cujo projecto é objecto de análise, avaliação e reflexão
no desenrolar do presente estudo e em que se destaca a integração do Plano de
Actividades da Biblioteca Escolar no Plano Anual de Actividades que, por sua vez,
entronca no Projecto Educativo de Escola.
Neste quadro, a leitura em Biblioteca Escolar parte de condições favoráveis
de vária ordem - espaço adequado e agradável, livros numerosos e diversificados -
capazes de estimular a procura. Distinguindo também as condições da leitura
literária em sala de aula das na biblioteca escolar e com a convicção de que a leitura
literária contribui para a humanização e desenvolvimento da sociedade,
problematizou-se e reflectiu-se sobre as condições de leitura na biblioteca escolar;
as condições de leitura do leitor; as acções desenvolvidas ou a desenvolver para a
promoção do livro e da leitura, as actividades mais adequadas para levar à leitura,
enquanto exercício de autonomia, responsabilidade, auto-regulação numa
perspectiva de leitor para toda a vida.

When the School Library Net Program was launched in 1998, after some research work that led to the Lançar a Rede report, Portuguese public schools began to fulfill the application form to belong to that SL Net. At the same time, many school libraries all over the country were created or reorganized, as it happened at the Francisco Rodrigues Lobo Secondary School library, whose project is evaluated in the work presented below, that also shows how School Library Annual Plan integrates School Annual Plan which is connected to School Educational Project. As a pleasant and comfortable space, we believe that the school library has good conditions that enable and stimulate the reading of its many and different books. In this work, we have established differences between literary readings in class and in the SL and, believing that literary reading contributes to society's humanization and development, we have analyzed school reading programs, the school canon and other readings. We have studied reading conditions in the SL, readers' reading conditions, actions done or that should be done in order to promote books and reading. We have also looked into the actions which might be more adequate to lead to reading as an exercise to develop autonomy, responsibility, self-regulation, i. e. an exercise that generates readers for life.
