Abstract(s)
This artistic research project arises from a reflection on my video work carried out in the last four years. I try to reflect on three main forces that guide my artistic practice, narrative, vulnerability, and nature, through a fluid personal discourse, assuming throughout the text my partiality on the subject. In a first phase, the problem of narrative is explored in relation to the videographic practice specific to my work. Two narrative typologies will be outlined based on Michael Marder's thought regarding the intelligence of plants: the plant narrative and the mnemic narrative. These reflections on narrative are indicative of an approach to the present in the aesthetic experience. Then, this approach will be expanded through the description of a process of predisposition of the artist to his own vulnerability as a source for his artistic creation. Finally, an alternative relationship between human and nature will be established, where the human is an integral part of the natural world and loses its position as an outside observer in the face of the unfolding of nature's activity. Through these three forces, I try to establish starting points for the understanding of a need to establish a relationship of presence in relation to nature and art, through a temporality that privileges the present.
